Autism Support

The YMCA of Greenville offers monthly social/recreational programs for families affected by autism. Activities range from swimming, open gym, arts/crafts, and community building at the Adams Mill Program Center, to activities at the nearby Hollingsworth Outdoor Center. In addition, we have various special events throughout the year, like a Holiday Party and a Valentine “Ball”. It is a great opportunity for kids to meet others like themselves, and for parents to make those connections that can help along the journey. Visit https://www.facebook.com/YMCASpectrumSundays/ for dates and sign-ups.

Family Connection of South Carolina offers parent-to-parent support. You can call and request a support parent, who will be another parent of a child with autism. They will be there to listen, offer advice, and help along the journey. Family Connection also offers a monthly support groups, including those specifically for Autism. Covid-19 Update!

Dear South Carolina Autism Society Community, it is with an abundance of caution for our staff, their families and the community that we will be closing our Columbia and Greenville physical office locations temporarily. We can still be reached through email, phone and Facebook to answer questions and support you. Our Case Managers will continue to check-in on their caseloads via phone until further guidance is provided.

Stay well!

Sincerely,
Kim Thomas
