Hello SCAS friend!

Below is the latest edition of our monthly newsletter.

From The President

Hello SCAS Friends!  I am really excited to share several new opportunities with you this month!

You may have noticed that the South Carolina Autism Society has experienced significant growth in recent years.  To help us better assess the needs of individuals, families and professionals across the state, we are conducting a survey on the State of Autism in South Carolina.  Please click here to complete the survey now.  Your voice matters!

Have you reserved your tickets for our Annual Conference featuring John Elder Robison as Keynote Speaker?  The Conference will take place on Friday, October 7th in Columbia.  This will be an exciting event that you don't want to miss!  More information is below, or click here to register now.

We've added a new event this fall -- the 1st Annual SCAS Oyster Roast! Just $25 will get you a day of delicious food and fun!  For those who aren't oyster fans, we'll have burgers and hot dogs too!  Check out the article below, or click here to buy your tickets.

But it doesn't end there!  Coming up are activities for teens in the Midlands, a family movie outing in Charlotte, and Spectrum Sunday in the Upstate!  We have special editions of Coffee Talk this month -- Midlands will be heading to Chick Fil A, and Upstate will be having a back-to-school education special!

Plus our all-new Annual Corporate Sponsorships!

This newsletter contains details on all these and more! Please contact us if you have questions, need assistance, or would like to get further involved.  Our main number is 803-750-6988, or visit our website at scautism.org.

Midlands High Schooler Hangout

Midlands High Schooler Hangout

July 30
12 - 2 pm
Lexington

Let's go bowling! On Saturdays the leagues clear out at 12, so let's swoop in and grab a lane. We plan to play some games, eat and hit the arcade.

Games are $3.50 per person, (we will play 2 or 3 games) and shoe rentals are $3.25 plus tax. They should bring extra money for food and arcade games.

High School Hangout is designed to provide an opportunity for teens with ASD to practice the independent living and social skills they've worked so hard to learn. It gives them a chance to just hang out with other teens in a lightly monitored setting. This event is for a maximum of 8 participants and we will have a chaperone. For more information contact Christie Fleming at: christie@scautism.org
