Below is a list of Holiday Assistance programs we have found. We will continue to update the list as we learn of more.
||The Salvation Army will be taking Christmas Applications at our 112 Tolly Street office location October 14 through October 17. Applications will be taken from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Applicants with children between the ages of birth to 12 years will need to bring the following documentation with them:
Picture ID for the person making the application, Birth Certificates for all children, Proof of income for the last month for all members in household, Proof of expenses for the last month, If applicant is not the birth parent, guardianship must be proven (notary statements, income tax documents or court documents) showing that you have taken care of the child for this year. Any other pertinent documentation you feel needs to be considered.
Bills must be in the name of person seeking assistance. Examples of Bills:
Rent/MortgageElectric/Gas/Water/Phone/Cable/WaterMedical bill you pay each monthChild Support/AlimonyAuto Payment/InsuranceMedical Insurance. Everything you pay out during month
Examples of Income (for all members of household):
Job Wages for the last month, Social Security Benefits/DisabilityChild Support/AlimonyFood Stamps/FIUtility ChecksPrintout statements for Section 8 Benefits or Housing Authority

||The assistance is for children 12 and under. The parent/guardian will need to bring:
A picture ID – parent
Student ID Card
Food Stamp print out within 30 days
SSI, Social Security, SDI income verification
Child Support verification/print out
**If no income then a notarized letter from person residing with and/or landlord**
Custody papers if not parent
Income verification – pay stubs for 1 month

||Applications accepted at the TD Convention Center, Saturday, October 10th from 9 am – 12 noon, and Monday, October 12 – Thursday, October 15 at 9 am – 12 pm and 1 – 4 pm. Please bring the following:
Current picture ID for person applying
Current DSS Household Summary print out or proof of any type of government assistance received. If you do not receive these, please bring picture ID, birth certificates for all children ages 12 and under, income verification within the last 30 days for all members of the household where you reside, and proof of expenses within the last 30 days for the household where you reside.
